And so it begins…
I’m kind of sick today, but I think I’m in pretty good shape for beginning my novel (ooo, let me say it again) my novel tomorrow. I’m surprised by how attached I am to it already. I don’t have my heart all in it, not at this stage, which is good when there will be so much editing to do later. But I’m excited by this undertaking, and how I am going to improve/go on from it.
My prayers have been that I can somehow bring a lyrical quality, a dance to the way I tell the story. Some kind of indefinable beauty that draws one’s attention heavenward. Only God accomplish this, hence the prayers. I am truly a dancer at heart, and when I cannot dance in worship (most of the time at church), I dance with my voice instead. This is what I want for my novel, and all writing as well, for it to be a continuing expression of the dance I try to bring to all aspects of my life.
Rather lofty, I suppose, especially for something as structured as a novel. But God could do that anyway, right?
Yes, He could.
