Ah, back on the blog.

Christmas is shaping up well (we keep it pretty low key),  my house is recovering from neglect due to Nanowrimo, and over the weekend our Nano group had a wonderful celebratory “cruise” across Kootenay Lake followed by soaking at Ainsworth hot springs while the snow came down around us.  *sigh*  Every member of our group completed the 50 000 word goal in November, so we had a lot to celebrate.

Now there are Christmas events coming up at speed, but first I must complete my portfolio for writing class.  This is somewhat traumatic, a final stretch beyond my comfort zone before retreating back into self-directed writing goals.  I will post some of the work for the portfolio in the “pages” section (I hope to figure out how to make it say “writing samples” rather than “pages”).

The writing class for next semester is  very small, which makes it more attractive to participate in, but I will not be continuing in January.  I can’t really explain why, beyond a little voice that keeps telling me not to commit to anything for the new year.  Perhaps change is in the air.  I have spoken with the prof though, and I can take second semester next year if I want to.  It’s always nice when bridges don’t get burned.
