Back in the saddle
A crazy time of writing and assignments, followed by intense housekeeping and then, some blissful days of relaxation with no demands on my time. It sounds great, but I’ve had enough now and I’m getting antsy.
Today I listened to part of fiction 101 while doing laundry and fixing meals. The initial lecture talks about the need to read good books on the craft of writing. As it happens, I got several such books for Christmas. Guess it’s time to dig in.
I began “Techniques of the Selling Writer” already, as noted in previous blogs. This is very valuable, but one of the heavier books on writing. I’m antsy, but looking for a slightly friendlier read. Looking through my Christmas cache of writing treasures, I think I will give “Getting Into Character” by Brandilyn Collins a try, and I’ll let you know how it goes.
